Reach Mowing can slash areas not accessible with rear mounted slashers and are quicker and more economical than traditional methods of hand cutting and mulching, reducing personnel injuries and OH&S requirements.

The reach mower is a flexible, hydraulic arm that allows mowing both vertically and horizontally. Designed for a range of vegetation cutting such as grass, hedges and other vegetation on steep banks (above or below the tractor), and all those other regions that would otherwise be inaccessible to a standard mowing tractor.
It can mow vegetation over drainage or water channels, vertical/sloping batters or banks, guard rails and rocky terrain. It can also reach high into trees and selectively eliminate tree branches and prune hedges.
Naylor Reach Mowers uses a Case MAXXUM 120 CVT 4WD cab Tractor fitted with Mcconnel Reach Mower with Reach of 6.5m from centre of tractor. A 1200mm flail head is fitted to the arm which is the preferred choice for many projects because of the safety they provide. The advantages of using a flail mower rather than a slasher is that the flail machine mulches as it goes, depositing the debris evenly and avoiding windrows.
The machine is balanced to provide maximum reach with the least amount of ground weight to minimise ground disturbance and get closer to the site.

Clearing & Embankments
The Reach Mower can mow up or down embankments and over verge barriers etc where other mowers can not reach. It is safer and less labour intensive than a team of whipper snippers.
The Reach mower is ideal for clearing overgrown sites where traditional slashers cannot access. Ideal for scrub and small trees and hard to get to areas.
It can clear the track not only across but also above as required by firebreak regulations.
Trimming hedges and trees
The Reach Mower can trim to a vertical height of around 6m and trim the top to a horizontal height of around 5m. The flail mowing action mulches the trimmings leaving little on the ground.

Drains & over water

The Reach Mower can mow both sides of drains where other mowers can't access. The mower can mow over water and wet areas that are not assessable with traditional equipment. It is ideal for road verges with the ability to reach over barriers, under trees and mulching scrub and small trees.
